I-635 LBJ Express is one of the largest highway and most complex projects ever undertaken in the U.S. Ferrovial Agroman serves as the lead contractor responsible for design and construction under a lump-sum, fixed-price and fixed-schedule. The project includes new construction of four to six-lane, 16-mile elevated, at-grade and depressed managed HOV lanes within the footprint of an existing freeway and reconstruction of more than 100-lane miles of existing main lanes and continuous service roads to accommodate highway widening.

Construction consists of 90+ bridges including multiple three level interchanges and direct connectors with two major congested freeways: Dallas North Tollway and I-35E; 9.3 million cubic yards of earthwork; 575,000 tons of paving; 3.4 million square feet of retaining walls; installation of IT and toll collection systems; and live traffic with AADT > 200,000.

I-635 LBJ Express was awarded The American Road and Transportation Builders Association 2013 Globe Award for outstanding efforts in maintaining environmental protection and standards throughout each phase of construction.
