Crossrail is one of Europe's largest transport infrastructure projects. It is building 42km of tunnels, 10 new stations and improving 30 more. The finished railway, which will be named the Elizabeth line when it opens in central London in 2018, will transform rail transport in London by increasing the capital’s rail capacity by 10% and cutting journey times across the capital. Crossrail will support the equivalent of 55,000 full time jobs and stimulate regeneration and economic growth.

We have delivered, as part of BFK JV, the twin bore 6.8km Western Running Tunnels between Royal Oak and Farringdon, driven with purpose-built 7.1m diameter EPB Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs). The tunnels are lined with precast fibre-reinforced concrete segments manufactured in a purpose-built precasting facility at Westbourne Park. We worked closely with stakeholders to minimise the impact of construction.
