Ferrovial Finalist in the 2014 BITC Awards

Ferrovial’s Social Infrastructure strategy has been chosen as a finalist for the ‘Unilever International Award’ at the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Awards 2014.

The jury panel for the awards features some of the most influential and reputed Corporate Responsibility leaders in the UK, highlighting Ferrovial's commitment on a global scale to focus on local investment in infrastructure.

Ferrovial's Social Infrastructure programme seeks to palliate imbalances or lack of water and sewage infrastructure in vulnerable communities in rural and urban areas of Latin America and Africa.

The company provides not only funding, but also technical and technological assistance and expertise in infrastructure development.

To date, the company has developed water and sewage infrastructure in Ethiopia, Colombia, Peru, Tanzania and Haiti, benefiting more than 153,000 people.

The company has also recently signed two new cooperation agreements with AMREF Flying Doctors Spain, Action Against Hunger Spain and ECODES to for water and sanitation infrastructure projects in Colombia, Tanzania and Peru.
