Ferrovial Agroman sponsors Richard Rogers exhibition at the Royal Academy

Category: General / 22 July 2013

Ferrovial Agroman is sponsoring the Richard Rogers RA: Inside Out exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts.

The London Royal Academy of Art has launched the long-awaited Richard Rogers RA: Inside Out exhibition and Ferrovial Agroman is sponsoring the event in partnership with Heathrow and Laing O'Rourke.

Following the successful partnership on the new Terminal 2 at Heathrow, the three companies have welcomed the opportunity to support Richard Rogers and the Royal Academy on what is set to be a pioneering and vibrant exhibition.

Richard Rogers has also recently participated in the Ferrovial Innovate event at the RIBA in London and the Ferrovial 60th Anniversary celebrations. We are proud to be able to support him with this important exhibition for London, architecture, and the future of urban development.

The sponsorship consortium’s collaborative approach mirrors some of the key themes which run throughout this exploration. Rogers’ ethos and ideas are of particular interest to each of us since we have all worked with him closely on renowned projects including Terminal 4, Barajas Airport, Spain; Terminal 5, Heathrow; and One Hyde Park, London.

The very purpose of our existence as transport hub and infrastructure, construction and engineering firms is to create those visions which so inspire the communities and societies they engage. The inevitable link between space, architecture and engineering is demonstrated by Rogers’ thought-provoking exhibition and this very collaboration – the link between the extraordinary and how the extraordinary is enabled. The exhibition will drive an innovative education programme to engage and inspire the wider audience. Investment in this is key today and is exactly how we all believe we can transform tomorrow.

The exhibition will run from 18th July until 13th October 2013 and explores the ideas and ethos of the internationally renowned architect and urbanist Lord Rogers of Riverside. Timed to coincide with Rogers’ 80th birthday, the exhibition examines his social, political and cultural influences and their connection to his architecture. Previously unseen original material, drawings and personal items, present a unique insight into the thinking behind one of the world’s most celebrated architects. Richard Rogers RA: Inside Out is held in Burlington Gardens, the Royal Academy’s new venue for contemporary art and architecture.

A series of debates, discussions and an innovative events and educational programme will support Richard Rogers RA: Inside Out. Focusing on urban design issues, contributors include leading architects, politicians and artists. Many of the events and activities accompanying the exhibition will take place in a public space specially created inside the exhibition.
